I stumbled across some neat fact sheets such as 10 tips for better web surveys.  They are provided by a company called Owl RE who are in the business of Wise Research and Evaluation.  Their blog, intelligent measurement, has some fairly neat content.  If you are a research scientist or student, it's worth checking out.
