An alternative SAS editor

I've been helping Audimar Bangi at sas2themax with the Beta testing of his software he calls Notebook.   Notebook is an IDE for coding SAS programs that has many wonderful features including:

  • SAS Code Editor + IntelliSense, Code Indenter
  • Windows-style File Explorer
  • FTP/Web Explorer
  • Code library/repository
  • SAS-to-HTML Converter
  • Reads SAS logs in color
  • ODS Graphical Interface Wizard
  • SAS-to-Excel Wizard (multi-sheets), and vice-versa
  • SAS Batch Console (runs multiple files)
  • E-mail SAS codes in color
  • Read and write SAS datasets, Excel (*.xls), CSV files (*.csv)
  • Write Excel XML spreadsheets

There are light and professional versions of sas2themax Notebook.

I find that Notebook fills a niche for the SAS programmer (those without Enterprise Guide) when it comes to working with code and data in an easy and organized way.  Check out Audimar's tutorial about organizing SAS projects.

If you program in SAS, I encourage you to check out the product.
