Recommendations for Learning SAS
When I began to learn SAS (fyi, I’m still learning) I solicited recommendations from the SAS community on Google Groups. I recieved many responses, some on the group and some as personal emails. Here are the most quoted resources to begin to learn:
- "The Little SAS Book" By Lora D. Delwiche and Susan J. Slaughter
- the User Group conference proceedings (http://www.lexjansen.com)
- the SAS-l archives (which are SAS lists, some of which are on lexjansen.com)
- I’d also like to add using the SAS Google Group as a resource: http://groups-beta.google.com/group/comp.soft-sys.sas/topics
Those really stood out as the top resources. Other than those items, the best way to proceed is to play with SAS Base and Enterprise Guide. Just dive in and play with SAS code.
The software also usually comes with some tutorials to start with. I found those excellent to work with. There is also a Little SAS Book for Enterprise Guide (EG) which is a great resource for EG if that is how you will be using SAS.
That should be all you need.
